"The Photon & Ogre: The Photo Magic of Yokosuka Noriaki" is a collection of works by Yokosuka Noriaki (1937-2003), one of Japan's leading postwar photographers. In the 1960s, Yokosuka Noriaki was active in the commercial world, starting with the Shiseido advertisement "Be Loved by the Sun," which featured Maeda Minami as a model, art direction by Nakamura Makoto, and design by Ishioka Eiko. Yokosuka Noriaki was also known for his original photographs with a mode and black base, and was highly praised by Araki and Tomatsu. Later, in collaboration with Yamaguchi Sayoko, a pioneer of female models at Paris Fashion Week, he expressed Yamaguchi's multifaceted beauty at Shiseido, Parco, and even Sankai Juku. As a famous duo, they left behind many masterpieces. This book was published in 2005 to coincide with an exhibition held at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum after his death, and is a massive work of nearly 550 pages that provides a comprehensive overview of Yokosuka's career spanning more than 40 years.
