"Keith Haring ArT RANDOM" is a collection of works by the American painter Keith Haring (1958-1990). He was a legendary artist who dominated the street art scene in New York in the 1980s, but like Basquiat, he died young at the age of 31 due to complications from AIDS. In that short time, his illustrations on subway billboards in New York quickly attracted public attention, and his performances were described as "new paintings." In Japan, he has been featured in BRUTUS since the early 1980s, and his public paintings on Jingumae Killer Street, his collaboration with Condomania, and other events have left such vivid impressions in our minds that they are still fresh in our memories. This is a special issue on Haring from the "ArT RANDOM" series of contemporary art catalogs published by Kyoto Shoin, where Kyoichi Tsuzuki was in charge of editorial. He pasted newspaper scraps and drawings that he had stocked onto the front pages, and painted over them with red and green gouache. The book is finished with black drawings, each of which expresses love, life, death, and art. The beautiful cover image is also very appealing.
