A collection of works by Japanese photographer Jizo Ohashi, ``Old Times''. Born in Osaka in 1927 to a father who was a craftsman who made brushes, he himself aspired to become a craftsman in order to take over the family's finances, but he could not give up on photography and became a freelance photographer in 1959. During his amateur days, he studied under Shisui Tanahashi, a favorite disciple of Nakaji Yasui. Afterwards, he was recognized by Mirei Shigemori, a gardener and researcher of Japanese garden history, and became famous as a garden photographer (by the way, Mirei's second son founded the Tokyo College of Photography, Hiroyoshi Shigemori is also a well-known historian. He also left behind many masterpieces of snapshots that express mental landscapes in unique monochrome, which were common among Osaka photographers of this era. This photo was taken in postwar Osaka and was exhibited at the JCII Photo Salon in 2009. It is composed of black and white photographs. This is a wonderful collection of snapshots that brings to mind the works of Yasu Sugino and Seiryu Inoue. The book is by Kazuki Suzuki.
