"From Black and White to Color" is a collection of works by William Eggleston, an American photographer representing the 20th century. Even in this book, Eggleston was fascinated by Bresson so much that he included a portrait of himself spending time with Henri Cartier-Bresson's masterpiece "Les Europeens" (The Europeans). In the 1960s, he realized that and continued to explore his own style. Among them, I started to work on "color photography". At that time, it was mainly used for commercials, and color was not regarded as a creative work. Even in such a period, Eggleston depicted the "America" of this era through the everyday life of the Memphis countryside in a way that was different from the style of Robert Frank and others. Its vision and achievements are still well known today, but this book mainly introduces the illustrations when the shift from monochrome to color began in the 1960s, and was held at the Bresson Foundation in Paris in 2014. It was published on the occasion of a solo exhibition.
