Japanese photographer Masato Sudo's collection of works "Ransho Japanese Tattooing (Trade Edition)". Born in Akita Prefecture in 1955. While studying at the Tokyo College of Photography, he produced and released the trucker calendar "Running Highway Aesthetics". After that, he studied under Yasuhiro Ishimoto, and in 1981 he held a tattoo photo exhibition "Aizo I" at Nihonbashi's Koshiroku Gallery, a tattoo photo exhibition "Aizo II" in 1983, and a Ginza Nikon Salon "Aizo III" in 1998. For a long time after that, I continued to face and take pictures of the tattooed body. In this work, Horijin, Horinishiki, Horiyoshi III, Horishiba, Horiyoshi 1st, Horiyoshi 2nd, Horinishiki 2nd, Horiuno 2nd, Horigoro 2nd, and Horigoro 3rd are famous in Japan. It contains the work of the carver and commentary by Horiyoshi III. Unlike a painting drawn on a flat surface, a tattoo is a work carved into the body with various curved surfaces, and depending on the technique used, it can also look like a fabric. The painting, which has the hardness of porcelain, creates a force and intensity beyond imagination by competing with the soft skin. These beautiful photographs were taken with the desire to let people know the true beauty of tattoos by viewing the body with tattoos as a work or object.
