A photo collection by Japanese photographer Hide Shinzo, "Tenchi Muyo". Hide Shinzo is a documentary photographer who has continued to depict the changes in Japan's social and industrial structure after the war and their reality. He is a photojournalist who has published numerous reportages in photo magazines and other publications, carefully investigating the behind-the-scenes social issues that have come to light with Japan's economic growth, such as rural areas and agriculture, small factories and manufacturing, pollution, education, people with disabilities, female workers, and children. Starting with agricultural and rural issues, he has expanded his field of activities to include depopulation, migrant work, female labor, children's education, regional issues, politics and social policies, and has received many awards, including the Ina Nobuo Award. This book traces the trajectory of his activities from the 1960s to the early 1980s. The title "Tenchi Muyo" was taken from a comment posted at the venue of his solo exhibition in 1974, and reflects the photographer's strong will that "nature must not be upset." This 214-page work includes text by the photographer himself, as well as his representative works such as "Rural Electronics Industry," "Rural Village," and "Blind People." It was published by Banseisha, which also published the Yagenbura Selection at the same time, and the cover design was done by Kohei Sugiura and Kazushi Suzuki, just like Yagenbura. The editing and cover design are also very appealing.
