A collection of works by Yutaka Takanashi, a photographer representing postwar Japan. From the commercial work from the 1960s, such as "Otsukaresama", to "Provoke" activities with Takuma Nakahira and Daido Moriyama, photograph theory for outstanding camera work both public and private, Takanashi's thought was 1974. In the year, he produced fruit as a work collection "To the city" (including "Tokyo people"). After that, the stage is changed from "city" to "town", and a large camera is carried on the back to transfer buses and trams to "Shitamachi" in "color". And here is the photo book published three years later in 1977. Tokyo is becoming increasingly "urban" during the post-war period of high growth. In Tokyo, there is still a "downtown" where the traditions and customs from Edo are strongly left, and in the words of Shotaro Ikenami, "in the corners of Tokyo that have been completely destroyed, those things are still subtle. When I see them, the old Tokyo people sigh in relief. Takanashi may have had the same feeling. An introductory work by a great photographer who will then look at the "city" from various perspectives and ideas. Booklet included. (Recorded in The Japanese Photobook 1912–1990)
