Japanese photographer Sato Jin's photo collection "Action Portrait" GIG "Koenji Edition. Born in Sendai in 1940, Sato drops out of a vocational school and studies under the supervision of rock photographer Bob Gruen in New York. In his 30s, he was famous for shooting music scenes, and after his 40s, he presented contemporary art and dance related works, and also landscape works of cities, and in recent years, the local area Sendai has been severely damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Yes, I photographed the tsunami site in the Pacific coast of the disaster area and presented it at a solo exhibition. This book is a collection of photographs published in conjunction with "Action Portrait: GIG-Koenji Edition" held in 2017, and is a representative work of Sato published in 1986, and is an indie in Tokyo from 1978 to 1986. It is organized around unpublished photos of a photo collection "GIG" that documents the music scene. From Tokyo Rockers to Hanatarashi, Aburadako, Ecstatic, Blue Hearts, etc. It is a valuable record collection of the underground scene of those days, such as the indie boom from the early days of Japanese punk rock.
