"The Tropics" is a photo book by Daido Moriyama, one of Japan's most respected photographers worldwide. He graduated from a design course at Kogei High School, became a commercial designer, became independent after working as an assistant for photographer Takeji Iwamiya and Hideko Hosoe. It is well known that he has been active since the 60's. This book is a collection of snapshots taken from Southeast Asia such as Thailand, Laos and Vietnam between 1980 and 1990. As noted in the afterword of the photographer, Moriyama, who was basically "north-oriented" in the spirit of mentality, was induced by music flowing at the bar at Shinjuku Golden Gai, and the needle inside his family turned south It seems he started. It will be mentioned later that such a desperate desire to change life in general might have done so. Although it is a unique unpublished work, it is a collection of works that can enjoy Moriyama style rich in energy and graphical elements.
