"Kojima Ichiro Photo Collection" is a photo collection by Japanese photographer Kojima Ichiro. Born in Aomori Prefecture, legendary photographer Kojima Ichiro continued to photograph the Aomori climate. After serving in the military for three years, he began taking photographs in the early 1950s under the influence of his father, and worked as a photographer for only about 10 years until his death in 1964 at the young age of 39. After the end of the war, Kojima was hit by the largest air raid in Tohoku and saw his hometown Aomori in ruins. He was overcome with a strong sense of despair, but when he went to "Tsugaru-no" to buy food, he was captivated by the beautiful nature and silently working farmers he saw, which prompted him to reflect on himself and find hope in life. His photographs of Aomori's landscapes, which he continued to take over the next four years, caught the eye of photojournalist Natori Yonosuke, and in 1958 he held a solo exhibition in Tokyo. In 1963, he published "Tsugaru: Poetry, Prose and Photography," his only collection of works during his lifetime, a masterpiece that has left his mark in the history of Japanese photography. He continued to capture the beautiful scenery and people of Aomori with a strong passion for "human strength, landscapes that do not compromise with humans... I want to express such things," and "I want to pursue aesthetic beauty rather than snapshots." This valuable retrospective includes over 200 works. Published in 2012, 5th printing.
