"Out of Season (Signed)" is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Koichi Inagoshi (1941–2009). Born in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, he worked as a graphic designer before becoming an independent photographer. While active in the fields of advertising, fashion, and portrait photography, he continued to explore the relationship between memory and time through the landscapes he encountered on his travels. His early works such as "Maybe, maybe," "Memory City," and "Ailleurs" are considered representative works, and he built a unique photographic world in which he superimposed his own inner images onto real landscapes. This book is an important work that contains 100 photographs taken in various parts of the world, including New York, Paris, Berlin, Moscow, and Morocco, over a period of approximately 23 years from 1969 to 1992. Rather than documenting a specific place or time, he reconstructs ordinary scenes encountered during his travels as fragments of memory. The landscapes captured with a "middle ground" perspective, neither too close nor too far away from the subject, are imbued with a stillness and a somewhat nostalgic and dreamlike atmosphere. This book features contributions by Saburo Kawamoto and editing, composition, and design by Iwao Hosoya. Published alongside the eponymous exhibition in 1993, it represents the culmination of Inagoshi's long-standing gaze upon landscapes. Includes a booklet. Signed by the photographer .
