The cover photo for this issue is from "Photo Magazine: Beautiful Wind, Issue 9," a photo collection by leading Okinawan photographers Hirashiki Kenshichi and Ishikawa Mao. Hirashiki Kenshichi became a celebrity overnight when a special feature on NHK's Sunday Art Museum aired. While many photographers focused on the "Okinawa issue," Hirashiki was a photographer who continued to pursue Okinawa with an inward perspective. He was an artistic photographer who had close ties with artists such as painter Kinjo Michiko, but passed away in 2009 due to pneumonia. Meanwhile, female photographer Ishikawa Mao has been attracting worldwide attention in recent years, with her photo books published by overseas publishers. She deepened her ties with American soldiers, worked in a black bar, and continued to capture the strong and resilient women who live their lives. She continues to create works with a focus on "Okinawa." This book is a fanzine published mainly by two of the area's most representative photographers. The cover photo for this issue is by Kano Tatsuhiko, and it includes Ishikawa's "Port Town Elegy" and Hirashiki's "I Want to Live Myself to the Fullest as a Flower," as well as works by Tsuno Chikara, Yamada Minoru, Kuniyoshi Kazuo, and Masaki Naoki.
