Daido Slide (Left) is a collection of works by Daido Moriyama, one of Japan's leading photographers. While Moriyama's name is now known worldwide, it wasn't until the 21st century that he began to gain attention overseas; until then, he was known only to photography enthusiasts. His international expansion began with the 1999 exhibition "Stray Dog," curated by Sandra Phillips at the San Francisco Museum of Art (Sandra later became the museum's honorary curator of photography). Since then, his global reach has expanded, with exhibitions in Paris in the 2000s and London in the 2010s, where he collaborated with William Klein. This book is a newly edited collection of works, brought to you by the discovery, a quarter century after the 140 selected films that were shown in that SF MoMa slideshow. Published by M (Moriyama) x M (Machiguchi), the book is bound by the renowned duo Satoru Machiguchi. It features two cover designs. This is the "Left" version (the dog on the cover is facing left).
