Frowst is a collection of works by Joanna Piotrowska, a Polish female photographer. The book won the first prize in the First Book Award, an award given to photographers without publishing experience by British publisher MACK, and was published by MACK. It is made up of black-and-white photographs on the theme of psychological tension and intimacy in family relationships. The photographs depict seemingly everyday family scenes, but in fact they are meticulously staged, with every detail calculated, from the poses of the subjects to the composition and lighting. This makes the work elicit a sense of intimacy as well as anxiety and tension in the viewer. Inspired by the therapy method of "family constellations" by German psychotherapist Bert Hellinger, this is a masterpiece that captures the complex emotions and dynamics hidden in the intimate relationships of family from an artistic and psychological perspective.
