"Photo Novel: Haruyuki-sho (With Booklet)" is a collection of works by Nobuyoshi Araki, one of Japan's leading postwar photographers. In addition to so-called "record" photographs such as "realism," "journalism," and "documentary," new expressions such as "eidetic photography" and "compo-la photography" were born in Japanese photography from the 1960s onwards. It was also the beginning of photography that was strictly private and personal, and those with particularly strong claims were also called "personal photography." In other words, it was something that "portrayed me" through the subject. The central figures in this were Masahisa Fukase and Nobuyoshi Araki. Since the 1990s, the expression "personal diary" has been used frequently, and several collections of works with the same title have been published, but this is a "photo novel" by Araki published in 1999. It is written "Dedicated to Junichiro Tanizaki and Sophie Carew." Araki's photo novel continues for about 450 pages without text. Booklet included.
