A collection of works by Japanese photographer Tsuguhisa Shinkawa. Although he is an unknown photographer, this book is highly popular among photo book collectors. This photo book was published by his family members the year after his death, and contains over 80 images. In 1972, he was swept away by the waves at Minamihama, Kujukuri, and passed away at the age of 33. At the end of the book, there are comments from his wife, older brother, older sister, and other acquaintances and friends. For example, there are descriptions such as "He had a crew cut and wore sandals or geta," "He loved sake and shochu," "He paid no attention to sumo masters or intangible cultural assets, and his main subjects were always ordinary people. It was the life of the ordinary people. He loved the slums." These somehow give a glimpse of Shinkawa's personality. The cause of his death and the style of his photography are reminiscent of the famous photographer Seiryu Inoue, who settled in Kamagasaki and was eventually drowned in the ocean off the coast of Okinawa and Amami. This is an unknown masterpiece, rich in sharp sensibility and visual depiction, including a series of photographs of the alleys of Ota Ward and Kawasaki, the workers and bars there, and even "work gloves" found on the side of the road.
