This is a photobook by Japanese photographer Yasuhiro Yoshioka. He made his debut at the 1961 Yomiuri Independent Exhibition, but was forced to withdraw his works for being deemed obscene. In 1962, he self-published his first photobook, primarily consisting of those withdrawn works. He was an avant-garde artist who explored experimental expression through his depictions of the human body, using strong monochrome contrasts and collage techniques. His early works were highly praised by the master Man Ray. He subsequently made a name for himself with still photographs of Kobo Abe, Hiroshi Teshigahara, and Nagisa Oshima, as well as his radical erotic works featuring sex symbol Yoshihiro Wakabayashi, making him a leading figure in avant-garde photography in the 1960s alongside Eikoh Hosoe. This 300-page book introduces Yoshioka's works in chronological order, including "Yoshioka Yasuhiro Works Collection (1st Edition)," "Atlas of Human Sex," "Beast Love," "Yoshihiro Wakabayashi," "Sodom's Paradise," and "One, Two, Theree." It also includes over 100 pages of "notes" from the photographer himself. (There are several torn pages.)
