Shonan and Karuizawa (Signed) is a photo collection by Japanese photographer Takao Niikura. Takao Niikura is a pioneer and leading figure in Japan's "compo-la photography". He studied under Seiji Otsuji, who was the teacher of Shigeo Gocho and others, at Kuwasawa Design School, and after graduating, he served as Otsuji's assistant and worked on art history editorials. He has published snapshots in Tokyo, Yokohama, Atsugi, Shonan, Karuizawa, and New York, and although the photos may seem casual at first glance, the selection of subjects, exquisite timing and distance, and unique framing and composition of the images are full of the fun of photography, and continue to captivate photography fans. As the title suggests, this book is a collection of snapshots taken in "Shonan" and "Karuizawa". The images, taken in the 1960s to 1990s, have a foreign atmosphere somewhere, and the unique atmosphere is captured with outstanding sense and a sharp camera eye. Text by Seiichi Washida. At the end of the book, there is a text by the photographer and his memories with Camera Mainichi's editor-in-chief, Shoji Yamagishi. Comes with a dust jacket. Signed and stamped by the photographer .
