Ten Years After is a collection of works by Nan Goldin, one of the leading female photographers of the 20th century. In Japan, Nobuyoshi Araki created a kind of boom in the 1980s, and his "personal photography" that spun unique stories intertwined with eroticism attracted attention, but in the United States, Goldin was the representative personal photographer of the same era. Her intimate images of close lovers and friends, sometimes including homosexuals and drag queens, had a great influence on the subculture and fashion culture of the 1990s. This work is composed of images taken in Naples in 1986 of Cookie Mueller, an actress and writer with whom Goldin had been close since the 1970s, her partner Vittorio, and her friend Daniele, as well as images taken when she visited the same place ten years later. However, ten years later, the three people had already passed away, and these works convey Goldin's introspective impressions of the time.
