"Onna to Otoko" is a photobook by three Japanese photographers. In the opening, publisher Hara Zenzaburo states that the Edo period's ukiyo-e shunga is a culture that the world should be proud of, and that in this book he is attempting to "express the style of ukiyo-e in a way that suits the individuality of each artist" as "a splendor that can rival the splendor of the Edo period." In response to Hara's request, the three photographers express sexual love between men and women in their own style. Tachiki describes his own photographs as "shunga-style dreamy photographs," and the men and women, gently illuminated by natural light and captured in soft focus, are filled with a sweet and dreamy atmosphere. Kano includes works from "FUCK," and as Hara comments, "his inherent dynamism and layered images show a solemn presence with rich colors," with close-ups of bodies, double-page spreads, and unique colors and warmth. By inserting various images between the man and woman in sexual intercourse, Ismura has created a composition that evokes the pleasure of both characters from a different perspective, allowing us to see three different types of "shunga."
