"Road to Nowhere Eastern Europe 1993-1995" is a collection of works by Robin Graubard, an American female photographer. Born in New York in 1951, she graduated from the New York University Film School. In her 40-year career, she has been nominated twice for the Pulitzer Prize for her unique work that combines autobiographical, editorial, and documentary elements. She has previously released works on themes such as squatter punks on the Lower East Side and Jamaican dance halls. Her works are also held in the collections of MoMA and the Whitney Museum of American Art. This is a collection of images taken in Eastern Europe in the 1990s. While confronting many harsh realities such as the Yugoslav Wars, the Bosnian genocide, the Kosovo conflict, and the famine that was the backdrop of these, the images are also heartwarming, depicting the newly born post-Soviet identity of young people.
