"Foxy Lady" is a photobook by American photographer Chaeko Laidman. This book is a reprint and softcover version of Laidman's masterpiece published in 1980, and is also known as one of the cult books selected by the magazine "Vogue". Women dressed in tight leotard-like outfits against the backdrop of urban buildings and desolate deserts are depicted in painterly, high-contrast colors. The style has been described as "hyper-real color" and is said to have established a new visual expression. The vivid visuals, which are futuristic and somewhat decadent, have had a strong influence on photographers, artists, fashion, etc. of the time. In terms of the historical connection, the graphical expression is similar to that of Japanese illustrators Harumi Yamaguchi and Hiroshi Nagai, and gives a sense of the creation of the 1980s.
