1983 YMO Japan Tour Chaos is a collection of works by the group YMO (Yellow Magic Orchestra), which dominated the music industry around 1980. The trio of ultra-unique artists, Haruomi Hosono, Yukihiro Takahashi, and Ryuichi Sakamoto, was a pioneer of the techno-new wave movement that made full use of synthesizers and computers, and was extremely popular, but they disbanded just five years after their formation, and their existence became legendary. Then, ten years after their disbandment, in 1993, they suddenly announced their reunion, and held a concert at the Tokyo Dome a few months later. This book was published in November 1983, the year of their first disbandment, and is a concept book that depicts YMO's philosophy and image through a variety of illustrations and text. At the end of the book, there is a detailed record of their activities over the past five years. This book would not have been created without the design by art director Tsuguya Inoue, who was also in charge of the image visuals of Comme Des Garcon at the time.
