"Shigeo Gocho Works" is a photo collection by Gocho Shigeo, one of Japan's leading photographers. He published only four collections of his work during his lifetime (three of which were photo books: "Days," "Self and Others," and "In a Familiar Town"). Shigeo Gocho was handicapped by a serious illness he suffered as a child and passed away at the age of just 36. He majored in graphic design at Kuwasawa Design, but was persuaded by Seiji Otsuji, who noticed Gocho's unique talent, to change course to the photography department. His snapshots and portraits, captured with an outstanding sense of form, a keen nose for the deliciousness of photography, and a deep spirituality that looks at himself and others, are excellent in composition, color, and psychological depiction, and move the hearts of those who see them. This book is the definitive edition, containing the aforementioned "Days," "Self and Others," and "In a Familiar Town," as well as "When I Open the Door," "Memories of Water," and "Childhood Time." Supervised by Kazuto Miura. Written by Yukiko Toyama. Designed by Yuri Suyama.
