"The Four Seasons of Goze" is a photo collection by Hashimoto Shotaka, one of Japan's leading postwar photographers. Born in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture in 1939, he began his career as a photographer in the 1960s. He captured the good old culture and landscapes of Japan that are being forgotten in modern times, such as "Kitakami River" and "Nishiyama Onsen", and is also known for his portraits of famous people such as Murata Choji and Nomo Hideo, titled "The Face of a Man". This book is a documentary that follows the daily life of blind traveling entertainers, Hashimoto's greatest work, and was first published in 1974 by Norasha, of which Hashimoto was also a member. A reprint was published by Aron Shobo in 1988, and a tabloid reprint of the serialization in Asahi Graph was also published by Zen Foto Gallery in 2019, but this is a simplified version of the book published in 1984.
