This book is an expanded and updated version of the catalogue published in 1975 for the historic New Topographics exhibition, which toured the US and abroad, including at the American George Eastman. As the economy grew, the natural environment of the suburbs of America underwent a major transformation, with many artificial landscapes created by destruction and creation (architecture). Japan was also beginning to experience a similar situation, but by photographing such environments in a neutral manner with few people, "new landscapes" were photographed to sound the alarm about the changed appearance and destruction of nature. These were categorized as "New Topographics" and were introduced in the US in 1975. This exhibition introduced the works of nine photographers, including Robert Adams and Lewis Baltz, who are representative of the genre, as well as Bernd and Hilla Becher from Germany, and these became a new trend in photography thereafter. Published in 2010, second edition.
