"YURIE NAGASHIMA (With OBI)" is a collection of works by Yurie Nagashima, one of Japan's leading female photographers. In 1993, while she was a student at Musashino Art University, she exhibited nude self-portraits taken with her family at the "Urbanart #2" exhibition held at Parco, which attracted attention, and she won the Kimura Ihei Photography Award (also won by HIROMIX and Mika Ninagawa) for her photobook "PASTIME PARADISE" (2000), which compiled photos from her university days. In recent years, she has also been active as a writer, and won the Kodansha Essay Award (2010) for her short story collection "Memories of the Back." This book is Nagashima's first photobook, published in 1995 at the same time as her graduation from university, and is composed of her own self-nudes. In her own living space, from an apartment room to a unit bathroom and a park, she shows various expressions, from her everyday short hair and T-shirt to her uniform, pigtails, and wig-wearing showgirl appearance, as if questioning the nature of women and their sexuality (eroticism), and also conveys the transience and fragility of youth. Comes with obi (but has been repaired with tape on the back).
