Genichiro Inokuma (1902-1993) is one of Japan's leading postwar painters who studied under painter Henri Matisse and continued to create abstract and challenging works based in Japan and New York. This book, "Objects," is a collection of objects and prototypes that Inokuma and his wife Fumiko have collected from all over the world, selected together with stylist Miyoko Okao, photographed by photographer Takashi Homma, and edited and designed by graphic designer Atsushi Kikuchi. Speaking of Inokuma's collection, the famous "Painter's Toy Box" photographed by Shunji Okura is also famous, but in this book, against a white background, each item is featured, ranging from ethnic traditional crafts to industrial products, furniture, dolls, toys, etc. The variety of the items shows Inokuma's uniqueness as an artist, and in addition, the Zen-like comments by Okao and Homma attached to each item give a glimpse of Inokuma's personality. At the end of the book, there is an essay by writer Toshiyuki Horie. Second printing.
