"Silent Mode: Mole Unit No.5" is a collection of works by Masato Seto, one of Japan's leading photographers. Born in 1953 in Udon Thani, Thailand, to a Vietnamese-Thai mother and a Japanese father. Moved to Japan in 1961. After graduating from Visual Arts, worked at Daido Moriyama Photography School and as assistant to Masahisa Fukase. After that, he became independent in 1981. His personal document ``Bangkok/Hanoi,'' which traces his roots, won the Japan Photographic Association Newcomer's Award, and ``Silent Mode,'' which he photographed train passengers in silent mode, and the rooms and portraits of foreigners who came to Japan from Southeast Asia. Won the 21st Kimura Ihei Photography Award for ``Living Room, Tokyo,'' which captures the world. Currently, in addition to continuing his activities at the gallery/publisher ``Place M,'' which he founded in the 1980s, he is also actively mentoring younger artists. This book is a collection of works containing the above-mentioned Slilent Mode, and is the 5th issue of the 10-book "Mole Unit" series.
