"Le Bistrot d'Hambourg" is a photo book by Swedish photographer Anders Petersen. Petersen became a student at a photography school taught by Christer Strömholm, one of Sweden's greatest photographers, and although he did not ask her to teach him directly, he was greatly influenced by Strömholm and formed a lifelong partnership with him. He continues to create personal documentaries through grainy, high-contrast depictions, and continues to receive strong support from leading Scandinavian photographers such as JH Engström and Jakob au Sobol. I'm a photographer. This book is the French version and first edition (1979) of Petersen's masterpiece "Cafe Lehmitz" published in 1978. An intimate and loving documentary about the prostitutes, perverts, drug addicts, and alcoholics who congregate in Hamburg's cafés and pubs. Although the cover image is different from the English version, it also includes Petersen's iconic illustration, which was featured on the cover of Tom Waits' classic album ``Rain Dogs.''
