A collection of photographs of Issey Miyake by American photographer Irving Penn. In the 1960s, Issey Miyake, then a student at Tama Art University, saw Irving Penn's photographs for the first time and was utterly astonished by their pure beauty. Back in time, in 1983, Issey Miyake's clothes were photographed for the first time with a pen for Vogue magazine. Since 1987, Miyake has entrusted Irving Penn with photographing all of his collections. Illustrations that have been entrusted to Pen's own interpretation without being present at all during the shooting. "Visual Dialogue / Visual Dialogue" by artists that has continued for more than 10 years since then. This book is a collection of works published at the exhibition held from 2011 to 2012. Under the direction of Issey Miyake's right-hand man, Midori Kitamura, 25 illustrations were selected based on the basic theme of the circulation of life, in which one creation gives birth to the next creation. The cover fabric is inspired by the color of ISSEY MIYAKE MEN's indigo dyed cotton shirt, which was Pen's favorite. One of the gems in which the artist's commitment is condensed.
