This book is a record of a war over the Soviet Union and Lithuania. After World War II, Lithuania was incorporated into the Soviet Union and came under its complete control. In order to change the passports of residents from Lithuania to Soviet Union specifications, the new government set up a small studio where they simply took portraits of people. The unnecessary background has been removed to create a simple portrait that looks like it was taken using only natural light against a white-gray background. An anonymous portrait with no record of the subject's name. However, there is certainly a heavy invisible history behind it. The person who was in charge of taking this photo was Vytautas Stanionis, and this book includes illustrations printed from the film by his son. A history of war told by a single, not particularly special, portrait. The somewhat complex feelings of the subject are deeply moving. Published in 2013, first printing.
