"Endless Night (Missing Slipcase)" is a photo collection by one of Japan's leading female photographers, Ishiuchi Miyako. In recent years, Ishiuchi Miyako has focused on "color" works, such as "Frida Kahlo", "Hiroshima", "To the Child's Clothes" and "sa・bo・ten", in which she takes close-up photographs of her subjects and depicts the texture of the materials in detail. However, Ishiuchi's original style is "monochrome". The deep contrast, which seems to convey the smell of ink, is very impressive. In order to precisely record her "physiological reactions" when taking photographs, Ishiuchi worked in a darkroom, digesting her own reactions and sensations and completing them as "works". Ishiuchi's representative monochrome works and "early trilogy" are "Apartment" (1978), "Yokosuka Story" (1979), and this book "Endless Night". The content is based on red-light districts and brothels across the country, and also includes text by Junnosuke Yoshiyuki. The colophon also includes snapshots of Ishiuchi Miyako taken by Nobuyoshi Araki. (Slipcase missing)
