A collection of works by Shoji Ueda, one of the leading photographers in postwar Japan. Masaharu Ueda's name was well known in the photography world because he had contributed to numerous camera magazines since before the war, but it was the 1970s supervised by Shoji Yamagishi, the editor-in-chief of Camera Mainichi, that pushed the name of Shoji Ueda to the national level. It is said that he was nominated for the photo book “Contemporary Series of Images (10 volumes in total, 10 photographers)” published in the early 1980s, and after the publication of the book “Children’s Calendar”. At that time, while there were many hard-touch works represented by Provoke and others, the kind of "silent" style that was calculated and directed was very fresh and distinctive. In addition, we cannot overlook the foresight of Shoji Yamagishi, who selected Ueda as one of the limited ten. This book is a collection of catalog works published at the time of the exhibition held at the Tokyo Station Gallery in 1993 when Ueda was alive. It is a good book to summarize Shoji Ueda's career. Signed by the photographer .
