"Trenchtown Love" is a collection of works by Patrick Cariou, a photographer from France. Born in Quimper in 1963, moved to Paris in the 1980s and started his career as a fashion photographer. Although he was active in fashion magazines such as Marie Claire, GQ, and Elle, in the 90's he moved to New York to review his own methodology, and since then he has devoted himself to documentary style creation. To date, he has published works on Surfers (1997), Yes Rasta (2000), Gypsies (2011), and in 2022 he will publish a retrospective covering more than 20 years, Patrick Cariou: Works 1985-2005. However, this is a collection of works published in 2003, a collection of portraits taken in the ghetto area "Trench Town" in Kingston, Jamaica. In an area where the general public never visits, and where security is far from good, Kariu pursues human dignity and reflects their pure beauty.
