A collection of works by Kunié Sugiura, a Japanese female photographer and artist, "Beautiful Experiments 50 Years with New York". Born in Nagoya in 1942, moved to the United States alone at the age of 20 to study at the Chicago Art Institute, where Yasuhiro Ishimoto also studied. At that time, art schools focused on painting and sculpture. Sugiura has been interested in photography since that time, and influenced by Warhol and Rauschenberg, who began to work on new artistic expressions using photography, Sugiura pursues originality. After graduating, while based in New York, he used canvases and acrylic paints like paintings, fused paintings and photographs side by side, and worked on so-called photo collages and photograms, and his creativity has spread throughout the United States. But it got high marks. This book is a collection of catalog works published at the exhibition held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography from summer to autumn 2018. The trajectory of Sugiura's creation is summarized in chronological order.
