This book, published in 2007 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Magnum Photos, embodied an idea proposed by Martin Parr: that each photographer select another photographer's work and write their own reflections on it. Although the members were like a family, they were a unique group, and the project manager said that the biggest challenge for the editors was deciding who to pair with whom. As a result, Yves Arnold selected and commented on Henri Cartier-Bresson's photographs, Elliott Erwitt on Arnold's, Bruce Gilden on Martin Parr's, and René Burri on Parr's. Alec Soth and Lise Sarfati each selected and commented on the other, with the exception of Dennis Stock, who selected and wrote his own text. In the preface, Gerry Badger states, "It is often not critics or curators who make the clearest and most perceptive judgments of an artist's work, but rather their fellow artists." Published in 2015, popular softcover edition, Japanese version.
