A collection of works by Willy Roni (1910-2009), a leading French photographer of the 20th century. Born in Paris to parents who escaped pogroms, Roni was raised by a father who ran a photo studio and a mother who encouraged him to play the piano and violin. It looks like it was tilted. However, after his father's illness and death, he took up the path of photography in earnest, and since before the war, he has deepened friendships with the founding members of Magnum, such as Robert Capa, David Seymour, and Henri Cartier-Bresson, as well as with Brassaï and Doisneau. After the war, he became the first French photographer to become an exclusive photographer for LIFE. Like the French photographers mentioned above, Roni is often talked about as a photographer representing the postwar period, but this is a collection of works composed of snapshots taken in Paris.
