"Miles Smiles: Miles Davis Photo Collection (Signed)" is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Shigeru Uchiyama. Born in Osaka in 1951, Uchiyama graduated from Tokyo College of Photography (now Tokyo Polytechnic University) and began working as a freelance photographer. Initially aiming for commercial photography, he was invited in 1975 to try his hand at photographing jazz, leading him to become a journalist dedicated to covering jazz musicians. Since then, he has worked on assignments for music magazines such as Swing Journal and as a dedicated photographer for jazz clubs like the Blue Note. This book, compiled over nearly a decade of photographs of jazz master Miles Davis, began in the early 1980s and was published posthumously in 1993. Just as he began photographing jazz in 1975, Miles went on a long hiatus, but miraculously returned in 1980. After that, he regularly visited Miles' overseas live shows, building a relationship of trust with him, eventually earning him the title "Your photographer" and allowing him into his hotel room. This book contains not only live performances but also many rare behind-the-scenes shots, and Uchiyama details his memories of Miles. Obi missing. Signed by the photographer .
