American photographer John Gossage's photo book "Nothing". Gosage continues to be active worldwide, learning from the leading artists of the 20th century, such as female photographer Lisette Model and graphic designer Alexey Brodovitch in the 1960s. His masterpiece "The Pond" is highly regarded in the history of photography as a symbol of new topography. He is also famous as one of the best photobook collectors, and has a deep knowledge of postwar Japanese photobooks. This is composed of illustrations taken in the kingdom, invited by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia in 1985. The prince asked Gossage "what do you want to shoot?" And Gossage replied, "I want to shoot the desert." The king asks, "You know there's nothing there, right?" And Gossage replies, "Yes, that's what I wanted to shoot." It took me 30 years to put it together as a book, so the title is "Nothing".
