"The Park" is a photo collection by Japanese photographer Yoshiyuki Kohei. Originally from Hiroshima Prefecture, Yoshiyuki Kohei moved to Tokyo in the early 1970s with the aim of becoming a professional photographer. His photographs of couples gathering and making love in parks at night were featured in the weekly magazine "Weekly Shincho," which sparked buzz. He subsequently worked as a staff photographer for a British news agency before going freelance in 1978. This book, published in conjunction with an exhibition held at the Yossi Milo Gallery in New York in 2007, is the English translation of his first photo book, "Document: Park," published in Japan in 1980. This series, shot using infrared film and infrared flash, captures "peeping" scenes in parks. This unique series, which vividly captures loving couples and the people secretly watching, has earned international acclaim.
