A collection of works by the American painter Cy Twombly (1928-2011), ``Cy Twombly's Photography - Lyricism of Variations - (Unopened)''. Born in Lexington, Virginia, he studied painting at the Boston Academy of Fine Arts and the Art Students League in New York, and his talent was highly praised from his student days. In the mid-1950s, he made a name for himself along with Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns, and is now known as one of the leading modern artists of the 20th century. This book is a catalog of an exhibition held at the DIC Kawamura Memorial Museum of Art in 2016, which was the first exhibition in Japan to introduce Twombly's photographic works. I started making photographs in a class I took at the age of 23, and continued to take Polaroid photos while pursuing creative activities centered on painting. Photographs of various motifs, from still lifes to 17th century palaces, flowers, studios, and landscapes, are sometimes cropped as abstract images, and combined with the atmosphere unique to Polaroid, they create a faintly poetic atmosphere. In addition to photographs, the collection also includes works such as drawings, sculptures, and prints. Designed by Yoshihisa Tanaka. New and unopened. (Since it is unopened, I am not sure what version it is)
