A collection of works by Japanese photographer Koushi Matsumoto, "Midnight Ether / Monologue of Plants in the Still Night". Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1961, after graduating from the Department of Photography, Faculty of Arts, Osaka University of Arts, became free at the age of 24. Starting with "Keihan Line" (1984) posted on Asahi Camera, he announced snaps and landscapes on the stage of "city". Matsumoto is synonymous with "night photography," and is also a pioneer in the style of portraying the heartbeat of a "city" set in the night. The collection of works published so far also used the motif of "city" such as "landscape that never sleeps", "landscape that never sleeps", and "night to swim", but this book is set in "suburban forest". It is taken differently. In the silence that is different from the city, the beautiful world of the night that the photograph depicts is expanding, such as the energy emitted by plants and insects, sometimes animals in the darkness, and the unique color tones of the night light. The image is reminiscent of the former "Hanakari" by Gashō Yamamura.
