Daido Moriyama (1938-), who cast a stone in the Japanese photography world as a member of "PROVOKE" in the latter half of the 1960s, has projected street corners such as Shinjuku with monochrome snaps. Born in Osaka in 1938, he worked for a commercial design company while in high school, and after that he became independent as a graphic designer, but from the early 1960s he went on to the path of photography. After moving to Tokyo, after working as an assistant to Eikoh Hosoe, he became independent as a photographer in 1964. This book "Daido Moriyama 1965-" was published at the time of Moriyama's exhibition at the gallery "Gallery 916" run by Yoshihiko Ueda, a photographer who is as highly acclaimed as Moriyama. Contains 106 works edited by Ueda himself from a group of works from 1964 when Moriyama became independent to the present. You can feel Ueda's solid sense as an "editor" while interweaving monochrome and color. Similar to this book, Akakasha also publishes a photo book of Taiji Arita and Kozo Miyoshi, edited by Ueda and directed by Hideki Nakajima. Obi missing.
