Japanese photographer Osamu Kanemura's photo book "Happiness is a Red before Exploding". Born in 1964, Osamu Kanemura studied photography at the Tokyo College of Photography in 1989, although he aspired to be a musician until his mid-20s. While working part-time, he began taking photographs of the city, and in 1992 while still a student, his work was selected for the Dutch photo exhibition "Rotterdam Photo Biennale". In the year he graduated from school, he held his first solo exhibition and published his 1st photo book "Crash landing" in 1995. After that, in addition to being selected as one of the "six photographers attracting the world's attention" by MoMA, he received the Photographic Society of Japan New Face Award, the Domon Ken Award, and the Ina Nobuo Award in 2014. He is one of the photographers who attracts attention outside. This is the fourth photo book of the Waizu Shuppan Photobook, and contains the scenery of Tokyo in the latter half of the 90's. Fragmented photographs of the scenery that spreads out in front of the station, including the shopping district, symbolically show the appearance of an obscene and miscellaneous city, as is prominent in the folding signboards and the innumerable electric wires.
