A collection of works by Japanese photographer Shotaro Akiyama (1920-2003) "Naked Portraits". Shotaro Akiyama is one of the photographers who has been active since the postwar period and the 1950s before Yasuhiro Ishimoto, Ikko Narahara, and Shomei Tomatsu created a new style in the photography world in the 1960s. In particular, portraits of celebrities, nude women, and still life of flowers are typical works. In collaboration with Takamasa Inamura, who also made a name for himself in nude works, he created a photo studio immediately after the war, and in the 1950s he became a founding member of the Nika Association with Shoji Otake, Yuji Hayata, and Tadahiko Hayashi, who were active in the same age group. He has made great achievements in the promotion and development of postwar Japanese photography. This is the 23rd issue of "Sonorama Photo Selection" (27 issues in total), which is a series of solo works by well-known photographers who have been active since the end of the war, and contains Akiyama's major nude works.
