"Russen (With Slipcase)", a photo book by American photographer Nathan Ferb. His political work "Lockport", which he began shooting in 1966 and was shot in 1971, was highly evaluated and he began teaching photography and multimedia at university. In 1977, during the Cold War, as a part of American cultural exchange, he participated in a photo exhibition (Photograph USA) held by American photographers in Novosibirsk, a city in Western Siberia. There, a portrait of the people of Novosibirsk was taken with a view camera equipped with a Polaroid back, and Nega took it out using a diplomatic flight at the US Embassy without notifying Soviet authorities. This book is a collection of photographs that summarizes the portrait. Although published from the United States and other countries, this document is a DUMONT version published in Germany. People standing in front of a monochromatic background and looking at the camera. For the United States, the Soviet Union during the Cold War was a politically and psychologically distant entity, but the fact that people standing in a similar way lived on it was reflected there, and this book cannot be seen. It is a book that is said to have given a face to the enemy. German version. Slip case included.
