"Notations in Passing" is a collection of works by the American photographer, curator and photograph educator Nathan Lions. Exhibition "Contemporary Photographers", held annually at George Eastman House in the United States from 1966 to 1968. In particular, the first “Toward a Social Landscape” emerged after Robert Frank, including Lee Friedlander, Gary Wino Grande, Bruce Davidson, and Danny Ryan. It is also highly regarded as an exhibition introducing American photographers, and "Compola (Photo)", which has become a boom in Japan since about 70 years, originated from this exhibit. Here is a collection of works published by the Lions in the 70's. The style of the snap and the way of composition are very unique while taking the flow of this compola. In addition, there are a number of illustrations that also illuminate individuality such as the viewpoint of seeing something like Luigi Gilli and the element of found photo.
