"Koki no Photographs / Photographs of a Seventy Year Old (Signed)" is a collection of works by leading Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki. From the 1960s, which began with "Satchin," which won the Taiyo Prize; the 1970s, which saw the birth of his beloved wife Yoko and marked the beginning of "Araki's Personal Photography," with "Sentimental Journey"; the 1980s, which saw his collaboration with renowned editor Akira Suei, reaching the height of his radical imagery and eroticism, and further demonstrating his exceptional talent for video expression; and the 1990s, following Yoko's death, when he began to portray more sentimental emotions through still lifes and landscapes. Since 2000, Araki has continued to explore various styles in line with his own feelings and the mood of the times. He has published a series of "diary-like" collections every year, and since 2010, despite suffering from vision problems in his right eye, he has continued to create, publishing an uninterrupted series of exhibitions and photo books. This book was published in 2010 to commemorate Araki's 70th birthday, in conjunction with an exhibition held at Takaishi Gallery. "70 is the beginning of photography, and I won't be able to take photographs unless I live to 100," says Araki, and the book is filled with his strength and views on sexuality and life and death. Limited to 500 copies.
