A collection of works by Japanese photographer Akihiko Okada, "Otaru in Memory". Born in Otaru, Hokkaido in 1947, dropped out of the Department of Photography at Nihon University College of Art to study photography, and later became a member of Nora-sha, known for his photo books such as Kazuo Kitai and Ihei Kimura. He has been active as a journalist since the 1970s, and in 1981, was in charge of shooting the illusionary photo book "䥝 (Minagoshi) / Evil / Evil II Coalition Committee" which documented the gangsters. This book is a collection of works published in 2010 at the exhibition held in Otaru, Tokyo. A book composed of illustrations published in "Asahi Camera" and "Monthly Otaru" magazine, shooting from 1972 to 1983. When he couldn't become a Tokyo citizen, he joined the Nora company and, at the same time, began to look back on his hometown and begin recording on the camera a record of the town that had begun to change little by little from a quiet rural town. The beautiful monochrome tones and the refined illustrations that make the country motif, but do not feel old, give the photographer a sense and aesthetics.
